I have been able to come home for a few days.  It’s great to see living plants and animals, kids and grandkids.  I’m going back to Denver this Monday the 8th.  I would like to say thank you to all the wonderful, caring people in the Curtis area and beyond, for their cards and words of love and encouragement.  The hospital staff was amazed at the amount of mail I received.  I said, “That’s small town Nebraska!”  Thanks to everyone who has helped and offered help.  Thanks to both NCTA and MV schools for being understanding of Janis and myself.  Thanks for your love and prayers.  Rod Martens

To everyone that was on the Wayne Schurr Memorial Ride. I want to thank everyone, everyone that was on the ride did a fantastic job. What I saw was a lot of folks working together taking care of the fallen riders. I saw no hysteria, everyone was calm. If anything was needed, to help stabilize a neck, to talking with the injured, folks were up and about getting things done. I am not easily impressed, but watching everyone at the scene, did impress me that day. Fantastic job to everybody on the ride. Special thanks to the Schurr family for Wayne’s ride, just glad it didn’t turn bad. The Woods family for the trailer and having the bikes back before us. To my riding partner, Joseph Brown, we had fun for awhile. To Everybody, a heartfelt thanks from Rhonda and myself. Terry & Rhonda Gourley
