Medicine Valley receives Wrestling Awards

Last week, representatives of Western Nebraska Wrestling Officials Association came to Medicine Valley High School to present three awards for sportsmanship.  Rulon Taylor was voted Wrestler of the Year, Coach Barry Mraz was voted Coach of the Year and Medicine Valley Fans were voted Fans of the Year.  Along with the award, Rulon Taylor received a $500 scholarship.  It was the first time in thirteen years that a community had won three of the four awards.  The other award was Official of the Year.  All the awards were voted on by wrestling referees.  Pictured third from the left is Rulon with Coach Mraz next to him and Brenda Chancellor second from the right representing the Medicine Valley fans.  Photo by Tori Willis
