The Eustis-Farnam/Medicine Valley cross-country team travelled to Arapahoe last Thursday to compete in the D-5 District meet. Top runners at the meet qualified for the state meet in Kearney this Friday. The top 15 individual competitors along with the top three teams all qualify for state. Fortunately for the home squad the team had a number of top runners and qualified two boys individually and the girls’s squad.
Top finisher for both the boys’ and girls’ squads was junior Rodger Farr who placed second in the boys’ competition with a time of 17:29 over the 3.1 mile course. Behind Farr was senior Connor Russell, who placed 13th with a time of 19:57. Both boys qualified for the state meet. Sophomore Mathew Florom, finished just outside the state qualifiers placing 17th with a time of 21:26. On the girls’ side, a solid effort by the entire team led to the girls’ team placing third and the entire squad earning a spot at the state meet. The team was led by junior Andie Chapman who placed 9th with a time of 23:07, close behind Chapman was junior Madison Clark, who placed 14th with a time of 23:29.
